Well, my ears are still ringing (and possibly bleeding), from the absolute stellar show that Radio Moscow put on last night. Just about as good as any band could sound live as compared to they're recorded stuff. It's been a long time since i have seen anyone shred an ax like Parker Griggs did last night. I was waiting for the strings to start glowing red. His vocals were even more solid than on the records. They're hittin' Chicago ,Tuesday i believe, and Minni soon after that, so go see them! Got a few pics, and a short video, that i'll post later. The band was cool and down to earth, very appreciative of the support. My wife got him to sign my CD booklet for me. The openers were The Suede Brothers, and i thought they were damn good themselves. They took off too quick for me to get a CD. However they are from the Cleveland area, so i'll see them again. The middle band was Naam, from Brooklyn NY. They had some sound issues, but rocked just fine. All in all the best i've gotten for ten bucks in quite a while.

They play the Double Door here in Chicago tomorrow. It's only a mile from my place so I think I may have to get my ass over there. Of course the Hawks play Game 3 of Round 1 that same night, but seein' as how it's 4/20... the music wins! (I can DVR the game).

UPDATE - just bought my tix. Can't go wrong with $8 tickets. Can't wait to see these guys live. Brain Cycles was/is an amazing experience, especially through nice headphones. Their album before that wasn't too shabby either.

I'm pretty much the same as all you guys above.

Black Keys certainly are the reason I learned to play Blues music...and still learning.

Radio Moscow fucking KILLED IT!!!

I feel "sorry for" and "jealous of" Parker's guitar - he fucking PUNISHES that thing man! I've never seen anyone dominate a guitar like that in my life! And it was crazy cuz all he had to say for himself after each song was "thank you very much" ??? ???

Parker played/decimated a plain honeyburst strat with white pickguard and maple fretboard, and some weird-ass amp I've never seen or heard of before. Unbelievable and ungodly sounds he coaxed from that beast... The bassist used an old Ampeg stack but I forget which bass guitar. The drummer had an old metallic silver ludwig kit and kicked major ass. It was seriously like witnessing an early Jimi Hendrix Experience show (from what I can imagine). So raw and powerful, yet tight and precise, yet stoney and fun as fuck. Happy 4/20 indeed!!!!

Dusty thanks for the encouragement. I was thinking about going to that show for weeks, and your posts put me over the edge. Glad I went. Great show. I will not miss those guys when they come to town in the future. Insanely good stuff.

I went to see them last year, I got to the venue with my buddy like three hours early. Ended up meeting Parker and the boys. Got completely trashed with them backstage before the show and dont remember a single minute of it. I'm sure they were good.
