Guys,

As with many of us, The Black Keys' have opened a giant window of musical exploration for me, helping me discover bands such as Radio Moscow, The Buffalo Killers, Patrick Sweany, Left Lane Cruiser, The Blackwater Fever, and The Black Diamond Heavies. I own most of these band's albums and am looking for new blues-rock type bands to explore/listen to. Any suggestions?

I'll beat Dante to it and tell you to check out Hacienda, but I feel their studio stuff doesn't do them justice.

I wouldn't exactly consider them a "blues" rock band but I'm really into the Heartless Bastards right now. Give them a listen if you haven't yet.

You just got yourself an apple strawberry sea breeze wine cooler.

The Greenhornes - Dual Mono (ohio garage/blues rock)
The Warlocks - Phoenix (not exactly blues rock, but not far from it, more psych/garage but with a blues feel)
The Black Angels - Passover (these guys are a drone/psych rock band but there's one bluesy track on here too)
Brian Olive - Brian Olive (nice mix of stuff, ex member of The Greenhornes)

This band Kuuluuko is from the Boston area, my band has opened for them a few times. They're a blues rock duo.

I met Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcom last year at Knuckle Heads in Kansas City. They are really nice guys, super humble. When they were almost done with their set people started dancing. When they were actually done playing the crowd was all bummed out and wanting more so, Cedric and Malcom played another whole set. It was awesome.

Anybody hear of the band Whalebones? Not so much traditional blues either but reminds me a bit of Neil Young especially the track Don't You Know.

You may or may not dig the following:
Pink Mountaintops/Black Mountain
Blood Meridian
Woods
Soledad Brothers (Brian Olive did a stint with them as well)
Kurt Vile
Sleepy Sun
Brightblack Morning Light

i've been hoping for a thread like this. I am in the same boat as the OP. Looking for some new stuff in the blues rock genre. To add, The Parlor Mob was really really good live when they opened for Blackstone Cherry In Findlay, OH. They added a lot to their live show compared to their album

http://www.davidfoustinc.com.....I wouldn't click it either

No doubt. Another cool thing they did was that they borrowed our sharpie to give autograph to the rest of their fans. As a result of us helping them out, they kept buying us shots.

Seasick Steve — More blues than rock, but great guitarist and very interesting story. (http://www.myspace.com/seasicksteve)

The Pack A.D. — Canadian female blues rock duo. They have a brand new album, but "Funeral Mixtape" is their best. (http://www.myspace.com/thepackad)

The Wildbirds — More rock than blues, sort of in the vein of old Kings of Leon. (http://www.myspace.com/thewildbirds)
