brucini, I was thinking exactly the same. Mark Neill is nowhere to be found in the anouncements...

Regarding the cover, I'm getting a strong Howlin' Wolf vibe here...

Wham bam, thank you m'am.

i gotta say i think i just sex wee'd finally some info. the album i think is cool man, its vintage after all the commercial influences from blakroc i mean a BR Camero for gods sake, the album front seems to wanna go back to the old school blues roots... plus its not giving a picture to the music. sometimes album covers can sum up the vibe with the colourings and pictures involved in the album cover, this to me says we're the black keys... take a listen to this shit! which is what i think they really wanted to have written on the cover haha! can't song names sound boss... just wanna hear some teasers now!!!

I really dig the album cover. I mean, what would you have done? A picture of Dan/Pat holding hands? A black panther rally photo? Two puppies wrestling in a field of daisys?I mean, think about it... what options are there for a cover for an album called "Brothers" that wouldn't look sappy/foolish? I think they did a great job (or Mr. Carney rather, forget his first name but he does all their album artwork, and is obviously related to Patrick).

If there are any coversongs on there, I'm sure they'll be excellent. TBK has a great track record in that dept.

Oh and I disagree with the guy who said maybe Pat was pissed about Dan's solo work. I doubt that. Patrick also went and did his own thing (Drummer), plus they did Blakroc and it sounds like Blakroc two is coming soon (yuck) so I think he probably just meant that their relationship was tested by all of the other things going on, pulling them in different directions and whatnot. And I think Patrick recently went through a divorce (in the last year or two?) and that probably makes things even more difficult on their friendship. Glad to see they're still hanging in there together and not fighting like those damn Oasis brothers... ha. Long live TBK, over. Psssk.

TBK on Facebook:

"The Final Final album cover..."

Note that the color of the writing of "The Black Keys" has changed from pink to red. Strange.

I hope there's a lot of slide work on this one, I don't think there was any on Attack & Release. (correct me if I'm wrong?)

You play bass? Whats up?

There were a few moments of slide that I remember. I know there were a few things on Psychotic Girl...might not be too obvious sounding though

I'm very excited for this record.. the cover makes me think WTF but, as I've learned, the best Black Keys accomplishments are preceded by a good old fashioned WTF moment.

So we're right on track!!

Im a big fan of the cover, its original. That seems to be what the Black Keys are all about. Even their version of Summertime Blues is as original as it can get!

I also dig the cover...almost all of the time. It's funny that you mention "Summertime Blues" because that is about the only one I really don't care for. To each his own, I guess.

For preorders from the warner bros/nonsuch site, will these be shipped out prior to May 18th to be in your hands on that day? Or will they be sent out on/after may 18th?
