I got thinking today of rockstar quotes, and got curious if i could find any black keys quotes but couldnt find anything on google. I think there would be some great quotes considering their interviews are hilarious. Lets come up with a list of our favorite TBK quotes...

"I feel hotdogs" - Pat

"The Buffalo Killers smoke alot of weed" - Dan

"I can keep my mouth shut and still make things happen" - Pat

"im gonna have a fully prepared... some sort of bread thing" - Pat

I recall an interview where pat and dan are laying in a hotel bed and that being a hilarious interview but cant find it

In the Lollapalooza 2007 interview where Dan and Pat are acting wicked silly, this quote is brought up by the interviewer: "'The idea was for people to be able to sit on a porch in Akron with a can of beer and blast the record through a boom box,' says Auerbach."

Dan: "We never said that."

Pat: "But it IS a good record to put on a boombox..."

people have been mentioning the 'Keys (dan at least) is starting to look like Caleb from Kings of Leon recently. maybe below is why

i remember laughing so hard when Pat replied to this question back in may '09

"Why don't more girls like The Black Keys? Are they really all at Kings of Leon shows, as has been suggested?

I don't know. I am afraid of them anyway so it is best they stay away. And we look like managers from a Sbarro."

Pat & Dan at Abbey Road studios 2008 (in a recording chamber):

Dan: This is THE echo chamber. This is where John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to come and smoke joints. In this room.
Pat: That can't go on TV, dude.
Dan: Yeah it can!
(some noise off mike)
Pat: No, you see, he's like, nope! ...This is where they used to come and eat ham sandwiches.
Dan: Yeah this is where the Beatles used to come and hang out. And make fun of Ringo.
Pat: I heard they used to come in here and eat because their chewing sounded better, in this. It sounded like eight people chewing, when there was really just four.

Pat on Rod Stewart - Rod Stewart told Rolling Stone he wanted to work with them, but nothing came of it.

"It was just talk. He's been wearing no sleeves, so much hairspray and getting so many blow jobs. Nothing that comes out of that guy's mouth is believable."

haha brilliant! they have some epic quotes and banter... i saw an interview on youtube the other day and the commentor was like oh why do they look so pissed off and acting weird...(despite the fact they are waiting for an afetr party gig at like 12pm at night n just having to wait round) i think they were a new brothers fan tbh. they obviously don't get what they are like, dry humour, gigglin, their own world, fast food, daft stories, not arsed interviews. thats it!

as they were the MTV Push artist last week, I kept clicking in to try an catch stuff as shows changed. there was a bit of an interview and Pat says, "there really isn't any such thing as a tour bus horror story, because everything on a tour bus is way better than in the minivan." and then Dan says something about Pat driving 65 MPH on a snowy road on the edge of a cliff and being scared...and Pat's face was just dead pan, like no big deal.

well...the look of the cake, it ain't, it ain't always the taste

"Everybody has a different point of view, and pretty much everybody's an idiot. I think everybody's an idiot. Pat thinks everybody's an idiot. You think everybody's an idiot. Okay? That's how it is. Welcome to fucking reality." -Dan Auerbach

"When I listen to our records, I don't hear blues music," he says. "It's ridiculous to say we play blues music."

I don't think Dan and I define "blues music" the same way.

Brothers, recorded primarily in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was their longest studio session yet: an epic 17 days. "That's like us making Tusk," jokes Carney. "Like Fleetwood Mac spending six months doing pounds of fucking drugs." Residents of Muscle Shoals were upset when a journalist paraphrased the band describing the fabled studio as "a spare, run-down building in a ghost town," but Carney is unrepentant. "That's like [U.K. roadside chain] Little Chef being offended when I say their food tastes like shit. I'm sorry, but it's true. We usually record in dusty, moldy, cheap places."

The oddest place they've heard one of their songs? A strip club. "It's not obvious stripper music," says Auerbach. "We make music for hipster strippers."

from http://www.spin.com/articles/blues-explosion-black-keys?page=0,1

there's many more in this interview

@mirby i do recall you mentioning that Sinister Kid would fit perfectly in a strip club in your review of Brothers. good to see Dan agrees and some
