Numbers was great as usual, nice day, big crowd. Unfortunately, the sound was a little whacked as it was for Patrick Sweany last time I was there...worth the trip though.

you can bet on numbers for a good show. i'm envious of the people who got to see them in the early 70s(Mr. A) when they had their original guitarist. apparently the dude took a fistful of acid and never recovered (sawed off his les paul to find the "hidden treasure).

So i was in ne Ohio for the weekend visiting the rents and strolled by the zephyr pub in kent last night...and there in the window was good ol' Patrick sweany playing a solo show. He played both electric and accoustic geetars, while using a stompbox and even a kazoo. The crowd was into it a bunch and he pulled a dan and called out some drunken bafoon who was standing at stage talking - quality, especially when the dude left out of embarassment .
Anyways, he sounded great, played a wide range of his catalogue as well as some covers. No pics or vids, but he was taping it with a mini disc. Maybe it'll turn up.

went to the show sat. night at the lockview tavern. great stuff! little rooftop patio, probably about 80-100 people max. crowd was way into it. i guess he plays here annually and friends with owner.
played with Clint on drums and "Magic" Jack on Bass...same as art museum show about a month ago.
they were rockin' hard from the start and played a two hour plus first set!! pretty much non-stop. then came back with another hour and a half. really high energy and played most of EHIADG plus lots of other stuff. including a great version of "papa was a rollin' stone"...awesome. ended with Little Richard "Lucille" and "Keep a Knockin".

I don't know how he is not more widely known or playing a more regular tour type schedule. he is soooo entertaining and talented.
