Nice take. I've been messing with this one for a while, and I finally realized it's much easier to play the main riff like you did, which is more like the way Dan plays it live than the version on the album. He adds some extra pulloffs when playing live that you don't hear in the studio version. Makes it easier to keep a steady beat for me - but maybe that's only an issue for the rhythmically challenged.

Sweet bro!! Sounded real dope!! Here's a faster version that I did a few years back before I learned to use my fingers. I've slowed her back down recently, to be more like the original, and I also lost the pick.

Thanks Dothetrunk! Yeah in my opinion the best way to play the main riff is by adding your own stuff in and trying to make it sound like your playing it live

And mbMark that was pretty cool! I learned thickfreakness with a pick and it just feels more natural without one.

After the first part of the solo I can't really remember what I did but it sounds like the notes are falling off of the fretboard.

dothetrunk,

would this be the appropriate time to use your "You just got burned" comeback or no?
