I'm making no statement as to whether I am pro or anti choice but I think the lyrics in "Unknown Brother" could easily be interpreted to have a pro-choice meaning behind them.

It's a very Heartfelt song must of been very touching when Dan's family in law first heard it.

I've heard this one repeatedly thrown out as one of the least favorites on the album, but it's near the top for me.

well that's good because that's a lot more meaningful in my opinion than a song about abortion. One of my favs on the album as well.

My husband always says this song makes him think of my brother. I never really listened to the lyrics until a couple days ago & ended up crying. It was amazing how much the song related to my husband & brother.
My brother passed away from cancer when I was 15 & my husband never met him. The lyrics fit perfectly to their relationship. My brother was the oldest (I have an older sister) & my mom's only son. We talk about him all the time so my husband feels like he knows him. The song makes me cry when I hear it but at the same time I feel happy knowing my brother is in a better place. Absolutely my fav song!

I haven't got a situation like that myself, but the lyrics are in my opinion some of the most powerful of the black keys/dans. I think it's because you can tell they are straight from an experience and emotion he's felt.

I would really love for them to play it live, definitely my favorite track on Brothers.
