I'm making no statement as to whether I am pro or anti choice but I think the lyrics in "Unknown Brother" could easily be interpreted to have a pro-choice meaning behind them.

They're about about a boy, Dan's brother in law, who he never met, who died at 16 or 17 of cancer. Posted 1 year ago #

Agreeing with the two posts above. Interpret no further. Also unrelated, Nappy, nice interview the other day! Shoot first. Ask questions later. Posted 1 year ago #

I've heard this one repeatedly thrown out as one of the least favorites on the album, but it's near the top for me. Posted 1 year ago #

well that's good because that's a lot more meaningful in my opinion than a song about abortion. One of my favs on the album as well. Posted 1 year ago #

My husband always says this song makes him think of my brother. I never really listened to the lyrics until a couple days ago & ended up crying. It was amazing how much the song related to my husband & brother. Posted 1 year ago #

I haven't got a situation like that myself, but the lyrics are in my opinion some of the most powerful of the black keys/dans. I think it's because you can tell they are straight from an experience and emotion he's felt. "When the sweats dried in, It smells like Rock n Roll" Posted 1 year ago #
